We often need to get more information about a specific file or folder. For example, we may need to check the size of a file, to ensure it’s small enough to send by email.
Finder’s Info window provides general information on an item’s size, creation and modification dates, as well as information specific to the file type.

To view an Info window in Finder, you first need to select an item in order to view its information. Click a file or folder to select it, then choose File->Get Info from the menu bar.
