Your Home folder is where you will save all your documents, photos, music, movies, and so on.
It’s represented by a House icon. Clicking on this icon, wherever you see it, will take you to your Home folder.
The name of your Home folder is based on your User Account name (more on User accounts later).
For example, if your name is John Smith, your Home folder may be called johnsmith.
The Path (like an address) to your Home folder will be:
/Macintosh HD/Users/johnsmith
Getting to your Home folder
To see the contents of your Home folder, using Finder:
Choose Go->Home from the menu bar.
Your Home folder will already contain various folders. Although we can use them as we wish, they each have a predetermined role – so don’t delete, rename, or move any of these pre-existing to a different location!
