Mac computers can accommodate multiple people, storing each person’s belongings in separate folders.
You’ll often hear such people referred to as Users.
Even if you’re the only person using the computer, you will have your own folder, located inside the Users folder.

Located inside the Users folder is your Home folder. This where all of your personal files are stored!

And, if you share the computer with other people, you might see other Home folders for those users.
However, you’re only allowed complete access to your own Home folder.
Additionally, you’ll find a Guest folder, and a Shared folder: We won’t be looking at the purpose of these folders for now.
