If you have a custom domain name, i.e. yourcompanyname.com, and host your email with a service provider other than Microsoft, Google, Yahoo!, or AOL then, when adding the Internet Account, you’ll need to choose Add Other Account.

When adding the account, your Mac will try to detect the settings, but sometimes it needs some specific details from you. If this is the case, you’ll need to find out from your service provider. This is easily done, and will be covered shortly.
When adding the account, you’ll need to choose between using IMAP and POP (The difference between the two is explained in the next lesson. Usually you’ll want to use IMAP). It’s important to know the difference between the two. So before you begin, decide which method you’re going to use.
